IND Vs AUS: The Australian team had high hopes from David Warner in the third Test match being played at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Australia won the toss in the Sydney Test and decided to bat first, but David Warner returned to the pavilion after scoring 5 runs. Warner missed the first two Tests due to injury.
The Sydney Cricket Ground has always been David Warner’s favorite test venue. Warner has scored 741 runs in this innings, being unbeaten twice in 14 innings of 9 Tests. Warner has scored four centuries and three half-centuries on this ground, but for the first time in the last six years, it has happened that Warner could not even touch the double figures in the first innings on this ground.
Warner’s bat moves in Sydney
Talking about five Test matches played in the last six years, Warner has definitely scored at least one half-century or century in every match. Especially in the first, Warner’s bat has definitely gone.
When India toured Australia in 2014-15, Warner scored 101 in the first innings and four runs in the second innings. Similarly, Warner played an unbeaten 122 runs against the Windies in 2015-16.
After this, in 2016-17, Warner scored 113 and 55 runs against Pakistan at this ground. Similarly, during the Ashes series in 2017-18, Warner scored 56 runs on this ground.
Prior to this match with India, Australia faced New Zealand in the 2019-20 season at this ground and Warner had scored 45 and 111 unbeaten runs in that match.
However, Warner has another chance to maintain his record. It will have to be seen that David Warner does some kind of batting in the second innings.
Let us know that the lunch session of the first day of the third test has been affected due to rain. The Australian team scored 21 runs in 7.1 overs in the first session and lost the crucial wicket of Warner. For Australia, however, Will Pukowski has batted well. Siraj brought success to India first.
